Fundraiser Carolyn was given the award at the Red Hall Hotel Bury, at the annual dinner celebrate the achievements of Rossendale's most outstanding women and raise money for Rossendale Hospice.

Rawtenstall-resident Carolyn, , was named as the most valued woman in Rossendale due to her tireless fundraising and work within the community.

A fantastic £4,913 was raised for the hospice.

Fundraising Manager Sam Morris says: "All of the finalists were very worthy winners, but many congratulations to Carolyn, this was very well deserved. It was a fabulous day, I'd like to thank the 92 women who came to support us, to raise almost £5000 in one afternoon is truly remarkable.

Special thanks go to the special events committee, our MC Roland Hailwood, Julie Green Jones, Musbury Fabrics for sponsoring the champagne reception, CFH Design who sponsor all our design work and to all of the local businesses who got involved to make the day happen."
