About Us


Founded in 1988 by and for the people of Rossendale, the Hospice is a registered charity based in the Health Hub on Bacup Road in Rawtenstall, Lancashire. It was formed to provide free, holistic, palliative care for people diagnosed with cancer and other specific degenerative diseases.

We aim to maintain high standards of care, aspire to models of good practice and carry out regular internal audits. The Hospice is registered with the Department of Health commission for Health Audit and Inspection known as the Healthcare Commission, we comply with National Minimum Standards, Care Standards Act 2000 and the Private and Voluntary Healthcare Regulations. Our Trustees are registered as the Service Provider with the Healthcare Commission and our liability in this respect is delegated to the Chairman as the Registered Person. The Registered Manager is responsible for the day-to-day management of the service.
