LIGHT
UP A LIFE
At Christmas time many of us wish to remember
loved ones in a very positive way. Light up a Life
is a special event where donors may like to make a
dedication in memory of a loved one, a special friend
or indeed to mark a special occasion. In return for
your donation, you will receive a personalised card
and each dedication will be celebrated during a non-denominational
service, accompanied by joyful Christmas Carols, a
brass band and local choir.

The 2010 Light up a Life service was held
at St James the Less Church, Rawtenstall on Tuesday
14th December 2010 at 7.00pm
.
Treasurer Andrew Walmsley welcomed everyone and lay preacher
Steve Crook took the role as MC for the event. The
whole congregation sang a hymn together, which was
then followed by a performance by Helmshore Primary
School. Nurse Julie Openshaw read a poem, whilst nurses
proceeded to light the candles of the congregation,
which was followed by the presentation of dedications.
Following the presentation, another carol was sung
by the whole congregation and the service came to a
close after Steve Crook read a prayer.
Complementary refreshments were then served in the
adjacent church
hall.
