CHRISTMAS LADIES LUNCH 2012
Rossendale Hospice annual Christmas Ladies Lunch raised £19,000 - thanks to the ex-Coronation Street heart throb Keith Duffy, who added a touch of spice to the event.
Keith who rose to fame as part of boyband Boyzone, acted as auctioneer and boosted the bidding war by offering kisses to those who bid over £500.
Prizes at the glamorous lunch, held at Nino's Restaurant, Rawtenstall, includedcut and style for 12months at Freddie's, a trip to a log cabin in Windermere, Man United Memorabilia and tickets, and tour around Coronation Street with cast members.
Sam Morris, Fundraising Manager says: "The event was a massive success and Keith was a huge hit with the ladies!
"We raised £19,000 which is fantastic. I'd like to thank everyone who came along and gave so generously. The money raised from events such as this are a huge help, and are particularly appreciated around Christmas time which is a very poignant and emotional time for many.
"The money raised will enable us to continue to provide services for our patients and their families which include hospice at Home care, day therapy and offering all the support we can possibly give to both the patient and families/carers .
"I would also like to say a massive thank you to our Special Events Committee who organised this event - we couldn't have done it without them!"
Keith was joined on the day by Giles Miller, a professional singer and compere, whilst table favor's and gifts were provided by Precious of Whalley and Bricknall Sweets.
